No, a duvet cover does not need an insert.

Use of the duvet insert and the type of insert depends on your personal preference and the warmth level you are looking for. Many hotels use a technique called Triple sheeting where they put an extra flat sheet or duvet cover without an insert on top of a blanket to protect the blanket that is not being washed as frequently as other bedding.

To minimize wrinkles, shake out the bedding between washing and drying and don't over fill the dryer. It’s best to tumble dry sheets on low heat for the shortest time possible until they are just dry which will help soften them and help with wrinkles (this could take some trial and error to get right). Also remove them right away from the dryer.

Our American Blossom pure finish is a special manufacturing formula developed for us that gives our sheets a soft, crisp, fresh feel and is environmentally friendly, pure and chemical free. Because the bedding is made from 100% USA cotton they will naturally wrinkle. (See more about wrinkle free fabric) . They will wrinkle less and less with every wash and use. Sheets

No, MyPillow bed sheets are not currently made in the USA.

In order to help consumers determine the country of origin of a textile product a statement must appear on the label sewn into the item along and in any advertised catalog, promotional material or internet site. If the product is made overseas it must say for example “Made in China or India” on the label and in any catalog or website description. If it is “Made in the USA” that must also appear on the sewn in label and in any catalog or website description. A label may say, “Made in USA” only if the product is made completely in the U.S. of materials that were made in the USA. For a more detailed explanation, check out our post on “How to Tell if Your Sheets are Truly Made in the USA Don’t Be Fooled!”

The location of sewn-in tag is a manufacturing decision, there is no standard.

All of the American Blossom Linens fitted sheets come with a brand label that includes washing instructions and a size label so you can determine the size of each sheet.  On fitted sheets we also include our “Top or Bottom” label that is sewn into the middle of the top and bottom of the sheet to act as a visual cue to help you place the fitted sheet in the correct direction on the bed.

Cotton bedsheets get softer over time. They soften each time you use them and wash them. If you would like, you could use some environmentally friendly fabric softener or vinegar and/or Wool Dryer Ballsto help make your sheets feel softer even faster.

The best cotton sheets to buy if you like a classic hotel style sheet would be a sheet with a percale weave. Percale is simply a term that refers a fabric with a plain, tight weave and a matte finish made of cotton fibers which is naturally longer lasting. Thanks to its tighter weave, percale is naturally soft and crisp but resistant to tears, abrasions, and pilling. If you’re a hot, heavy sleeper no other type of fabric permits the brisk air circulation you crave. Cotton percale releases body heat and wicks away sweat while you sleep. See this blog about percale sheets for more info.

The crispiest sheets are cotton sheets made with a percale weave.

The American Blossom Linens bedding is made with a percale weave fabric. Sheets that have a sateen weave are not crisp; they have a slippery feel to them, tend to trap more heat and pills or snags could emerge as the sheets age. For more information regarding our percale weaving process, please visit Our Process

There are many fibers that sheets are made of including the following: Tencel, Bamboo, Model, Polyester Microfiber (Check out the article in Forbes about us and the downside of microfiber), Linen, Silk and Cotton.

We choose cotton as the fiber to make our USA made bedding because of the many comfort and care benefits, it is preferred by most consumers and most luxury hotels and USA farmers grow some of the highest quality cotton in the world.  It is smooth, soft, breathable, odor resistant, hypoallergenic, and of course made by mother nature. Cotton is easy to care for, holds up to frequent washing, is a machine washable fiber that releases dirt easily when wet. It is strong and extremely durable. Cotton sheets work for any season of the year, as they don’t disperse heat but also don’t hold it in and are moisture wicking.

Cotton sheets should be washed in cold water. Tumble dry on low and remove promptly. Warm iron if needed.

All American Blossom Linens bedding has washing instructions listed on the sewn-in label as well as on our website below each product. Learn more about caring for your sheets.

Dryer Balls

You should replace your dryer balls when they begin to get very small which happens over time. Unlike dryer sheets, which are a single use product, dryer balls are a reusable product. In general, they last for up to 1,000 washes, which works out to approximately 10-12 years depending on how often you wash and dry your clothes and bedding.

Learn about our USA made dryer balls.

In general use three dryer balls per load.

American Blossom Linens USA made dryer ball set includes 3 dryer balls.

Dryer balls are most commonly made of wool, plastic or rubber.

American Blossom Linens dryer balls are made of 100% USA sourced wool

Dryer balls are most commonly made of wool, plastic or rubber and they are a replacement for dryer sheets and a method for reducing drying time to save energy.
Three dryer balls are recommended for a normal load. The dryer balls circulate in the dryer and separate items while absorbing heat and dispersing it throughout the dryer. The movement of the balls against fabrics can also help fight wrinkles and soften clothes and bedding.

American Blossom Wool Dryer Balls made from tightly compressed wool. Information regarding static can be found here: Care Instructions
